August 20, 2008 - According to a recent study by market research firm Futurescource, consumers are poised to purchase roughly 45 million Blu-ray discs by the conclusion of 2008. This would mark a nearly 400 percent increase in sales over 2007 and, for major blockbuster titles, account for 5-6 percent of DVD sales.
